This is one of my most favorite races...of course, I am biased because it's our race. I still remember the day I came into the offices and said "I think we need a 5k...and I think it should be the Pi Day 5k" and my staff was right on board! I had just run a 5k for another nonprofit we know, and I loved it. (Well, mostly I loved it, I was still hurting from those hills).
2014 was our third annual Pi Day 5k and the first year we added a medal...and I LOVE our medal! Of course, it's 3.14 inches! But what I love more than anything are our participants...their excitement and energy make me smile everytime I think of them...and this year in particular, we had so many kiddos and first time 5k participants...it was a great finish line with lots of celebrating!
I love celebrating those accomplishments...and I love when I can connect with other #Run3rd friends! Jodi has come to several Pi Day races as well as other meet ups too...and that's been so much fun! We always get to say hello, offer some words of encouragement and say "see ya at the next one!"
